The Vienna Stock Exchange will be open on tomorrow's public holiday (Ascension Day). The entire infrastructure – from trading to settlement – will be available. This year, trading on an Austrian holiday has already been possible on 6 January (Epiphany) and the Vienna Stock Exchange will also be open on the public holidays on 11 June (Corpus Christi) and 8 December (Immaculate Conception).
Open trading on selected Austrian holidays was introduced last year and brought the Austrian trading system availability closer to EU standards. The initiative has met global demand. Last year, turnover on Austrian public holidays represented about three quarters of an average trading day. About 80% of Vienna Stock Exchange’s equity turnover originates from international trading participants.
